How to get 100 free fastener models

We include 100 free fastener models in our Lightning installer.

We add these samples to your Lightning database when you start up Lightning for the first time so you can try out Lightning immediately.

Included standards

These files include M8 and M10 sizes of four standards:

ISO 4014: hexagon head bolts
ISO 4032: hexagon nuts
ISO 4762: hexagon socket head bolts
ISO 7089: plain washers

Check out our Fastener Models shop if you still need a great fastener library. Our library is a great Toolbox replacement because it is not linked to SOLIDWORKS licenses and the models actually follow the standards.

How to add the samples to your library

If you start up Lightning and we cannot find a database file, we create a database for you and add these 100 files automatically. You can start using Lightning immediately by opening an assembly and clicking Add Fastener in the Lightning toolbar.

But if you have removed the samples from your library, you can always add them back. Just click the Load free samples button in step 2 of the settings and you’re good to go.
