What is an activation?

When you install Drew or Lightning on your PC, you have to enter a license code. This happens automatically when you request a free trial. We email you a license key after you purchase Drew or Lightning.

The software creates an activation for your PC when you enter your serial and click Register. This means that we store your hardware fingerprint on our license server and create a license file on your PC.

We then compare this file with the data on our license server when we start up.

This is how we make sure your license is still valid. We can also detect when a user has tampered with the file.

Can I have one activation or multiple ones?

For trials, you can have only one activation.

Drew Business and Lightning Floating have floating licenses and unlimited activations. There is a default limit, but please contact us and we can increase this number for you.

Drew Solo and Lightning PC-bound support one activation per seat. When you purchase 3 seats, you receive one license key that you can activate on three computers.
