Supported fastener types

Lightning has a unique approach for every fastener type. Bolts have a thread, a length and could use a washer, whereas washers have no thread, but they still have an M-prefix for the diameter.

You select a fastener type in step 3 of the Settings window.

Notes:

  • Assembly and BoltNoWasher support is added in Lightning 2.9.
  • We add an M (for metric) prefix to the diameter if the fastener type has a thread or an M-prefix. Example: a 6mm washer is usually sold as M6.
