We don't know why SOLIDWORKS creates so many popups. But we are trying to replace as many as we can with our own one-click magic. We created advanced drawing templates that we call blueprints. You create a blueprint for each project or customer with their own preferences.
You start a new drawing from a blueprint with one click. Drew always uses the correct template and sheet format, then adds views, tables, dimensions, blocks and more.
Blueprints contain dozens of your drawing preferences:
Drew stores your blueprints in a text file. You can share this file yourself or use the built-in sharing tool in the settings.
If SOLIDWORKS would create a popup, we create a setting and automate the question. Answer each question once, then start a new drawing with a single click. We’ll add the sheet format, views and outer dimensions for you.
When you create body sheets, Drew finds all unique bodies from the cut list. Each body gets a sheet and we attempt to add dimensions like the contour size and length for weldment bodies. Sheet metal bodies also get a thickness dimension.
