Add a sheet for every (weldment) body
One of Drew’s coolest features is the ability to add body sheets.
You can also add a sheet for every sheet metal body and a sheet for every sub-weldment.
A sheet for every unique body
Just click the Add body sheets button in the Drew toolbar when you are creating a drawing:
Drew finds your part model, looks for the cut list, then finds all bodies. Drew then adds a sheet for every unique body.
This can take a while for complex weldments, so please be patient. To avoid having to look at an unresponsive SOLIDWORKS , we have created our own progress bar. And the Cancel button actually works, it’s a miracle.
How to add missing body sheets for new bodies
If you have changed your part and you want to update an existing drawing, just click the Add body sheets button again. We’ll find all bodies that don’t have their own sheet yet and add the missing sheets for you.
Rotate weldment bodies automatically
For straight weldment bodies, we can rotate the main 2D view automatically. Then we can even add outer dimensions and angle dimensions.
Which items are added to a body sheet?
Each body sheet can consist of:
- The default Sheet Size from the Blueprint
- A 3D view
- Zero or more 2D views
- A scaled flat pattern view for sheet metal bodies
- Blocks or notes
- A balloon with or without quantity
- Outer dimensions
You can change all of your preferences for each Blueprint using the Settings window.
